Leather World Base Coat is a high-solids foundation coating designed to support professional leather repair and recoloring workflows. With excellent flexibility and adhesion, it fills minor scratches, scuffs, and surface imperfections while building a uniform base for color.

Two Ways to Use Base Coat

1. As a Primer Coat

When used as a primer, Base Coat prepares raw, repaired, or heavily sanded leather so color coats build faster and more evenly.

• Reduces the number of dye or color coats required
• Improves adhesion and color uniformity
• Ideal for bare hide and major repair areas

When used as a Primer Coat, Base Coat must be followed by a Leather Dye Colorant and a Top Coat.

2. As a Color Base Coat (2-Step System)

Base Coat can also function as a color base in a two-step system. In this use, it may be lightly tinted to help build color coverage before finishing.

• Tintable up to 20% pigment (by volume)
• Acts as the color-carrying base layer
• Improves coverage efficiency on problem areas

When used as a Color Coat, Base Coat must receive a Top Coat after drying.
