My blue leather chair that's 21 years old looks like new.

Posted by Thomas E Keller on May 24th 2021

My only regret is that I did not take a picture to show the 'before' and 'after'. The white cracks disappeared like magic after 2 coats of the high gloss dye. Some leather softener and BOOM a brand new chair.
    Thanks to Leather World.

Two coats of dye and 2 coats of leather softener brought the old chair back to life. Only regret is that I did not take before picture.

We have a leather couch with substantial bleaching on the back, pillows and sides. With 3 coats, most of the bleaching is not noticeable. It blends well with the unbleached burgundy leather of the original couch.

4th Car I have worked on with success

I do not care how bad you think your leather seats are you can dramatically improve them. The best part is it is easy to do DIY and it is very satisfying to complete the project. If possible and not too complicated take the seats out of the car. Also use a sponge instead of foam brushes. I cut off a piece of a sponge that you wash a car with. Follow directions - many light coats of paint and let DRY before another coat. I also used some black dye I had left over to redo the steering wheel on my Infiniti G37S and it looks perfect.
